Chapter 1: Get to know the team behind LoveMeeWeiShyan
It's no fun reading about the entire wedding journey process, if you do not know who we are. Even if you do know, continue reading cause you may find out something new about us, then you can use it to blackmail us. *coughs*. So without further ado, I present to you:
~10 fun facts about us~
Warning: Picture heavy post ahead
1. We annoyed each other for 11 years and still counting
Shyan and I met at Taylors College Subang way back in 2007, where we were both pursuing our South Australian Matriculation (SAM). Somehow I felt that it was fate when we met, for all the decisions that we made, the choices that we took before 2007 lead us to this encounter.
Here we are, way back in 2007 when we were still innocent young.
If I did not pass PTS (Penilaian Tahap Satu that allows all Standard 3 students to skip a form to Standard 5), I would be in a form lower than Shyan, and we may not had met in Taylors
If both Shyan and myself did chose to take Form 6, instead of SAM, we would definitely not had met each other. (Yes, we both contemplated to take Form 6 after our SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia))
If this is not fate, how else would our paths cross this way?
Shyan graduated from a very famous boys school in Kuala Lumpur: Victoria’s Institution. He was very active in scouts, and he’s a proud member of the 6 of 06 Second KL Scout Group (Troop Leader for 2006). Girls were pretty scarce back then, except for Form Six girls (Was that why Shyan wanted to join Form 6? *Suspicious*)
As for me, I am from a Coed school. Mainly enjoyed socializing with friends (both boys and girls alike), especially after school hours.
3. Shyan’s voice is extremely loud. You can hear him literally a mile away. (That’s how I knew him anyways)
Shyan’s voice is like an elephant. Even if he’s just talking at a normal tone, it really sounds very loud and projected. Now think about when he gets excited about a topic, there’s no doubt that his views could be heard by all four corners of the room.
That’s how he captured my attention back in college, with his voice. The very first sentence that I’d heard him proclaimed loud and proud (during our first class get to know session) was:
"Hi I am Shyan, and I am from Victoria Institution #proudalumni"
4. We did not officially start dating until 8 years ago
We started dating back in 2010, and officially became a couple on 101010 (auspicious date, and it was pre-planned because we liked the date). I remember how we went for Skytrex in the morning, and then Matterhorn for a HUGE pork burger, before going to the park near my place and popping the official question. It wasn’t very glamorous as we were in sportswear back then, but it was imperfectly perfect for us.
Spiderman in action. Still trying to impress mode.
Erm, super unglam. What in the world am I doing?
The Matterhorn burger
And moments after he popped the important question
P.S. Our first official date was at Italiannies Sunway Pyramid (which closed down several years back), followed by a stroll at Sunway Lagoon Night event (where Sunway lagoon was opened at night for the visitors to enjoy the rides). It was pretty romantic for a first local date.
At the Wild Wild West Ferris Wheel Wagon (can see the whole Sunway lighted up. Romantic max)

I still remember what I asked him when he first proposed a trip to Bukit Tinggi: Oh did you mean the shopping mall at Aeon Bukit Tinggi, Klang? Hahahaha!

I honestly thought at that time that we were going to the shopping mall. Imagine my surprise when he said that we are going to the real Bukit Tinggi by the hills. We went with a group of friends, and it was one of my most cherished moments.

2017: His graduation
We'd been very blessed to be able to travel to so many countries at such a young age. But we'll love to see more of the world! Bucket list is to travel to the North, like Iceland to view the Northern lights, though I think Shyan would freeze :D

7. I’m more adventurous in trying out new food and experience
While Shyan is more cincai (easy going) and prefers the safe side, I’m proud to say that I’d unvirginized him on several of my favourite food:
1. Baskin Robbins – loved it
2. Salmon sashimi – loved it
3. Liver pate – tolerates it
4. Paddle pop ice cream – tolerates it
5. Chicken feet – Still bleh
And etc.

If we have the chance, we would love to travel around the whole entire world. So far, we’d been to Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea + North Korea, China and Macao, and we’d travelled to several cities around those areas! We’d also travelled pretty significantly around Malaysia, especially the West coast and Sabah Sarawak. We would love to head over to the East Coast next to experience their beauty!

10. We will be tying the knot in October 2018! #likefinally
Most of you may not actually know this, but I’d been bugging Shyan when is he going to marry me since what it feels like forever. Ever since our pre-proposal in 2012 (more on this in a separate post), marriage is definitely in the cards for us. But with our studies and further studies, with a no job and career back then, it was difficult for us to settle down. Since we’d both graduated and now that we have some stable income, we’re more than ready to tie the knot!
YES LIKE FOR REAL THIS TIME!
